Grill Fruit

Fruit isn’t always the first thing we think of when we think about firing up the grill, but maybe it ought to be. Especially in the case of pineapple, pears, figs and peaches like the ones we currently have from Hunter Orchards!
Grilling fruit is simple too! Place your fruit of choice on a medium-hot, greased grill (cut side down) until you can see grill marks and you get a slight caramelization. Next, move them to a lower heat part of the grill and let them cook until slightly tender, but not too soft. In the case of pineapple you’ll want to have grill marks on both sides before moving to a lower heat. That’s it! You’re done!
From here you can eat your freshly grilled fruit straight, add cinnamon, sugar or ice cream, or mince the fruit and make salsa or combine with some savory meats. The choice is yours!
